Retail Investors Guide to Real Estate Funds

The emergence in the number of real estate funds in the UAE has increased over the past few years. Real estate funds are extremely important for the continuous inward investment into the booming UAE economy. Whilst activity and performance in the global real estate fund sector has been low, here, real estate funds specific to the UAE have been very active and there performances have also been excellent, in some cases exceeding 50% or 60% in the lastyear.

The entry level to many of these funds can be millions of dollars, making way for high net worth individuals or institutional investors, subsequently shutting out regular consumers. However, in the last two or three year’s funds or in some cases, syndicates, have been opened up with lower entry levels to cater for the ever growing demand of the retail investor. Many investors welcome this opportunity as they want to reap the potential rewards of the strong asset class of residential and commercial property but don't want the complexity involved of direct investment as an end user.
